چکیده

Quantum fluctuations of a certain class of bulk operators defined in spatial subvolumes of Minkowski space-time, have an unexpected area scaling property. We wish to present evidence that such area scaling may be ascribed to a boundary theory. We first highlight the implications of area scaling with two examples in which the boundary area of the spatial regions is not monotonous with their volume. Next, we prove that the covariance of two operators that are restricted to two different regions in Minkowski space scales linearly with their mutual boundary area. Finally, we present an example which demonstrates why this implies an underlying boundary theory.

Dimensional reduction from entanglement in Minkowski space

Using a quantum field theoretic setting, we present evidence for dimensional reduction of any sub-volume of Minkowksi space. First, we show that correlation functions of a class of operators restricted to a sub-volume of D-dimensional Minkowski space scale as its surface area. A simple example of such area scaling is provided by the energy fluctuations of a free massless quantum field in its va...

Scaling Dimensions of Lattice Quantized Gravity

I discuss a model for quantized gravitation based on the simplicial lattice discretization. It has been studied in detail using a comprehensive finite size scaling analysis combined with renormalization group methods. The results are consistent with a value for the universal critical exponent for gravitation ν = 1/3, and suggest a simple relationship between Newton’s constant, the gravitational...

Dynamical evolution of nonclassical properties in cavity quantum electrodynamics with a single trapped ion

In this paper, by considering a system consisting of a single two-level trapped ion interacting with a single-mode quantized radiation field inside a lossless cavity, the temporal evolution of the ionic and the cavity-field quantum statistical properties including photon-counting statistics, quantum fluctuations of the field quadratures and quantum fluctuations of the ionic dipole variables are...

Exploring the implications of the laws and principles of quantum physics in the field of talent (quantum theory of talent)

The issue of talent-discovering is one of the most important issues in the field of education and research that has always been a concern for educational systems. Studying the issues of identifying and guiding talented students can illuminate a large part of the activities of the executors and practitioners in order to accomplish their mission effectively. On the other hand, quantum physics has...

Quantum Phase Transitions on Percolating Lattices

When a quantum many-particle system exists on a randomly diluted lattice, its intrinsic thermal and quantum fluctuations coexist with geometric fluctuations due to percolation. In this paper, we explore how the interplay of these fluctuations influences the phase transition at the percolation threshold. While it is well known that thermal fluctuations generically destroy long-range order on the...
